The Deity PR-4 Cage expands the versatility of the PR-4 field recorder by transforming it into a compact production rig. Designed to mount to both the top and bottom of the recorder, the aluminum frame protects the unit while adding multiple mounting points for microphones, wireless receivers, and other accessories.
At the top of the cage are two integrated suspension mounts positioned at a 120° ORTF stereo angle, allowing users to quickly build a compact stereo microphone setup without needing additional stereo bars or brackets. These mounts are compatible with Rycote Lyres, Radius Hoops, and Deity’s V-Mic suspensions, making it easy to attach a wide range of shotgun or small-diaphragm microphones for stereo ambience, sound effects, or field recording.
The protective cage also functions as a cheese plate, offering multiple 1/4”-20 and 3/8”-16 threaded mounting points for accessories such as wireless receivers, timecode boxes, or articulating arms. A built-in cold shoe mount provides a fast option for attaching compact accessories directly to the rig.
Machined from lightweight aluminum, the cage adds durability while keeping the recorder compact enough for camera rigs or portable field setups. Installation is straightforward and can be completed quickly using a Torx precision screwdriver, making it easy to assemble or remove when adapting your recording setup.
