The 12 Step from Keith McMillen er et Chromatic keyboard fotbrett som sender MIDI noter via USB eller KMI MIDI Expander for å kontrollere alle typer lydkilder: Hardware synthesizere, moduler eller software intrumenter 

 

12 Step er kapabel for polyfoni og kan spille opp til 5 noter per tangent. Keyboard er anslagsdynamikk og er også ettertrykkfølsomme. Ved å vippe på foten kan man også styre parametre som Pitch Bend, Aftertouch eller hvilket MIDI kontroll beskjeder man velger selv.
